Welcome to Wholesale Unlimited, home of Hawaii 's favorite local snacks. We've been providing kama'ainas and islanders at heart with delicious, fresh kakimochi, crack seed, li hing mui, and other favorite Hawaiian treats for over 30 years.
In 1965, Betty Nagamoto Honma was enrolled at the University of Hawaii in the teaching program. Betty recalls, “At that time, girls were expected to become nurses, teachers, or secretaries. After two years, I just decided that it wasn't for me.” Following a chance meeting with a food broker, she applied for a $250 loan and Wholesale Unlimited Inc. was born. The first Wholesale Unlimited location was on School Street in Nuuanu, but she soon outgrew that and moved to the industrial area of Mapunapuna. In order to sell retail as well as wholesale, Betty moved Wholesale Unlimited a larger space in Mapunapuna, where the business thrived.
